For almost twenty years, Ryedale Car Scheme has been providing door-to-door transport to individuals living in Ryedale. A team of volunteer drivers using their own cars provide this very important service and on average, every week the volunteers cover 2,870 miles, providing about 330 trips. At present, there are over 900 individuals registered to use the service.

To use the car scheme you need to register with RYECAT. The current annual registration cost for individuals is £10. You can register in the following ways:

To book a journey we usually require at least two working days ahead, this is to give us time to arrange a volunteer driver. The transport is door to door and in most cases the driver will wait and take you home afterwards. The passenger pays the driver direct for the total mileage travelled.
