Mobile Resource Project
The ryepod has been designed to accommodate a wide range of activities from mobile youth club to information centers.
The ryepod is a large custom built vehicle that is wheelchair accessible and is specifically designed for use as a community resource, able to provide youth clubs, staging music events, Information services, outreach/training, village fetes and galas, mobile health services and clinics.
The vehicle has both 230 volt AC and 12 volt DC power options running off batteries, a 12 volt generator or can be connected to a mains power supply, enabling groups to use most types of electrical equipment.
The ryepod has been fitted out with five separate areas:
- An interview room that doubles up as a kitchen
- A seating area with a large screen TV DVD player and removable table
- A working area where people can sit and use lap top computers and other equipment
- Outside there is a large awning on either side, which effectively trebles the available useable space. There are also five lockers/pods, which have built in playstations and DVD players.
The ryepod is fitted out with a range of equipment including:
- three computers having internet access
- large screen TV & DVD
- a comprehensive sound system that can be used for public broadcasting and as a mobile music system
- a range of sports games and activities
- limited catering facilities
The ryepod is available for hire complete with driver technician to community groups and other organisations for use as a mobile venue for their individual needs to enable them to take their services out into the communities.
The ryepod is operated by RYECAT Ltd who take bookings, provide additional equipment, an experienced driver operator and ensure that the vehicle is maintained to the highest standards at all times.
RYECAT Ltd is very keen to see the ryepod working out in the rural communities where many people experience great difficulty in accessing services.
