Volunteers

Volunteers play a key role in the provision of community transport services, and in recognition of this, we ensure that volunteers receive all the support and training that they need to undertake their role.

You will be working with a wide range of people and collecting them and dropping them off at their own homes. It goes without saying that they should be treated with respect at all times. Our customers are made aware that you are giving your time as a volunteer and we expect them to respect you and your vehicle.

Ongoing support
When you become a volunteer, our coordinators will be in regular contact with you about day to day matters but also to ensure that you are happy with what you are doing and to identify what we can do to support you.

We hold an annual event around the first of April, RYECAT’s Birthday, which you will be invited to attend. It is also an opportunity for you to meet all of the RYECAT staff and trustees. During the event we hold a drivers and volunteers meeting where you can meet with like minded people doing the same thing as you, exchange experiences and raise any issues that you have come across. This can also be done at any time by contacting either a coordinator or senior member of staff.
