The Ryedale region
Ryedale covers an area of 583 square miles and with a population of approximately 51,000, it is one of the most sparsely populated districts in the country.
Three towns, Malton, Norton and Pickering, have a combined population of 20,000. Almost 90% of Ryedale’s villages have less than 500 inhabitants.
RYECAT also operates some services in the Scarborough Borough (317 square miles) and the Selby district (232 square miles).
