About RYECAT

The community transport projects in Ryedale have developed over a number of years. Ryedale Car Scheme, Rural Miles Minibus Brokerage and Wheels to Work are well established and it was decided to establish an independent company that could further consolidate the existing schemes and develop new ones that would improve transport provision in this very rural area of North Yorkshire.

RYECAT was established in 2005, as a Limited Company and a Registered Charity. Very generous support from Ryedale District Council ensured the core funding was there to enable this development.

As the company has grown and new projects developed staff levels have increased from three in 2003 to the current level of nine, plus 50 volunteers, delivering a wide range of integrated services.

RYECAT is now an active partner organisation of the Little Red Bus network, providing transport throughout the Ryedale district and operating a wide range of services.
