Dales Integrated Transport Alliance (DITA)

DITA is a Government and European sponsored initiative aimed at connecting transport in the Dales in a sustainable way. This Alliance of interests from local authorities to Parish Councils and from businesses and communities are coming together to promote economic prosperity in the Dales and at the same time reduce carbon emissions.

DITA, working with Little Red Bus and Metro will provide a community based travel planning service designed to extract travel efficiencies and encourage behavioural changes in transport choice.

So, are you interested in getting a better transport service for the Dales?

Whether you live or work in the Dales, run a business or you are just visiting the area, we need your help to get better transport.

To make a difference, Little Red Bus is working with the Dales Integrated Transport Alliance (DITA), a new community led group of local people in partnership with a variety of organisations including the Local Authorities, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, business groups, Welcome to Yorkshire and other public/community transport operators.

So far, across the Dales, there are eight hubs or local communities wanting to get involved. These are Sedburgh, Hawes, Leyburn, Reeth, Ripon, Pateley Bridge, Grassington and Settle.

Each hub will be able to help you plan your journey and provide the information you need. Maybe there’s an existing car scheme in your hub or a community transport bus which links in with a regular bus or train service to take you to and from work.

LRB is looking forward to being involved in and central to this exciting project.
