Partnership Benefits the Dales
02-May-2012 Steve Jackson has been appointed by Little Red Bus community transport, METRO and Dales Integrated Transport Alliance partnership in a new position created to achieve more effective use of transport resources in the Dales. Steve will deliver an improved service for people living in the Dales. He comments " I am very excited about making a significant difference to people's use of transport. I will be using and enhancing Little Red Bus’s existing ICT systems to develop a brokerage service to facilitate the choice of the best transport for communities whether by bus, community bus, social cars, lift-share, taxis, cycling, walking or combinations of modes. We will only achieve this through full and on-going community and operator engagement, so that problems can be identified accurately and solutions designed that meet the needs of individuals"
As a result of forward thinking and ground breaking investment Little Red Bus is recognised as one of the leaders in the field in developing integrated transport solutions that include community transport as a key part in delivering total transport connectivity particularly in rural areas. Chief Executive of LRB, Lyn Costelloe says " this project has emerged from the investment we made with North Yorkshire CC and the Futurebuilders fund and this is a natural progression to build upon our ideas and experience and make a significant difference to the thinking behind delivering sustainable transport"
Helen Flynn, Chair of DITA comments this is a key role in achieving our ambition of “Connecting the Dales” through the 8 hubs based within communities throughout the Dales. By Improving the performance and customer satisfaction of the service provided by LRB’s existing call and booking centre, we can make a real difference to people's lives
